Name: Astaria Leaygros
Age: 25
City: Laknos
Apperance: Astaria is on the tall side for a woman, standing at around five-foot-eight. She is thin, yet still a little on the curvy side, though not as much as some. She has medium-sized breasts that go into her thinner waist, and out into her well-proportioned hips. Her hair is long and wavy, in a golden blonde color and comes down to the middle of her back. She usually leaves it back in a ponytail, but every now and again, she can be persuaded to leave it down. Her eyes a brown color, unusual with her pale skin and blonde hair. All in all, she’s a beautiful woman, she can be persuaded to wear all colors, but usually wears whatever the mood strikes her at the time.
History: Astaria was born the second child of Liros and Tarianna Leaygros. Their first child was her older brother of five years, Kistros. All in all, it was a very normal childhood. She had two loving parents, and a brother who wanted to protect her from everything that could harm his little sister. She had friends, and when she became a teenager, she dated. Her parents tried to raise her and her brother to do the right thing, and to abide by logic. Astaria drank it up, but her brother felt that a different path called to him, so he became a solider in the Laknos Military.
Laknos didn’t have the best military, but they did have one – prepared for it if the worst should happen. Most people he ran into didn’t understand, but Astaria did. It made sense to her, though she’d never tell her parents. She didn’t agree with her brother’s decision, but she didn’t fight him when he wanted to teach her how to fight. He had swords sent from Deproelior for her, and quickly started teaching her everything he knew. He felt that she should know how to defend herself. He suggested it to their parents, but the scholars they are, they felt that fighting would not solve the problems of Arcanus, but would only make things worse. They became disappointed in their son, and disowned him, striking him from the family tree - very upsetting to Astaria.
They felt that only diplomacy and intelligence would make things right with the world today. Astaria could see where they were going. They had a point, but as time went on, she felt that they were wrong. Diplomacy and intelligence would only solve so much. The rulers of Aurora Valley and Deproelior were not stupid, and they knew what diplomacy was. The problem was that it had been tried in the past – history shows that – and it had failed. This war was bound to be worse than any other, and Laknos was going to be dragged into it one way or the other – they either had to side with one of them or find a way to stop the fighting. What Astaria already realized, and what many others were only beginning to, was that Laknos couldn’t stay out of this. Something would have to change. The question was… what would it be?
After coming of age, Astaria immediately started work with the Laknos Library and Museum, said to be the grandest in all of Arcanus. She worked her way up from ordinary Librarian's Assistant to Historian. They immediately recognized her sharp eye for detail, and fascination with the history of the world. She just recently got a promotion last year, and is now sent on missions to the Ancient Ruins to gather artifacts, scrolls, and such, and bring them back in pristine condition. It's a great honor, and one she's lucky to have. She has a partner in all this, Jiron Listran.
Personality: Astaria is an intelligent woman, and loves to spend her time studying and enriching her knowledge about her city and the world in general. She is fascinated with the state of world, and part of her wants to help change it, but the other has no love for politics. She’s a very loving woman, and when she loves someone, she loves them very deeply. She doesn’t easily turn her heart from people, and often struggles with making a decision that’s right for her – and what the right decision for everyone around her is.
Astaria feels that logic is always the way that you should go, and yet finds out that sometimes, logic isn’t good, either, even though she feels that emotions are what caused the problems in the world today. While she may have a point, she is beginning to realize that logic isn’t going to solve it either and wonders… what will Laknos’ place in all this be?
Astaria is also a workaholic. She would rather spend all of her time deciphering and cataloging with Jiron than doing anything else. She tends to forget herself, and often has to force herself to have fun and do something besides work. It's sometimes all she talks about, which tends to drive some people away. She cares a lot more about what people think she's willing to admit, and often won't say anything if her feelings have been hurt.
